“The Sounds of Tinkering” is a touch activated ode to the various sounds one might hear at a typical makerspace, such as the sound of a smashing light bulb, the incessant hammering of nail onto wood, or an angry metal cat. Each of these triggers are set off by touching a conductive element on the object. The installation uses SoundPlant, a software the assigns sound files to your computer keys, and a Makey Makey, a microcontroller that assigns your computer keys to conductive physical objects.
